Founder story

Built after one too many dropped dictations.

I built this because I kept running into the same stupid problem: I would be somewhere with crappy internet, try to capture a thought by voice, and the whole workflow would fall apart. Dictation would lag, disconnect, or just fail right when I needed it.

And even when it worked, it still had to send my voice off my device to some server somewhere, wait for that to process it, then hopefully come back cleaned up enough to paste where I actually needed it.

Why the hell does this need to leave my device just to turn my voice into clean text?

I did not need another bloated writing app. I needed something simple: hit record, talk naturally, get cleaned-up text, and paste it where I am already working — even when the internet is bad or unavailable.

The problem

The first draft is the dangerous draft.

The rough version of your thoughts is usually the most sensitive version. It has names, half-formed ideas, client details, medical context, legal strategy, private numbers, and business plans before they are ready for anyone else. Generic dictation tools train you to ship that raw stream somewhere you do not control. Voice Scribe Pro is built for the opposite habit: fast capture with a local-first Mac workflow that keeps private work close to you.

  • Dictate into the apps you already use without changing your whole workflow.
  • Keep names, phrases, snippets, and cleanup preferences in your own working system.
  • Turn repeated names and phrases into a private vocabulary instead of re-teaching a public cloud every day.
Fn

Fast capture without surrendering control

Hold Fn, say the thought, release, and get back clean text where you were already working.

Aa

Clean text from messy speech

Turns the ramble into sentences, bullets, and drafts you can actually send.

A Mac utility, not a data trap

Menu bar access, transcript picker, repaste shortcut, microphone selection, and guided setup keep the workflow visible.

Say the ugly first draft out loud

Built for pauses, restarts, and stream-of-consciousness drafts — not just short robot commands.

FAQ

Useful details before you trust it.

When will invites go out?

Private beta invites go out through voicescribepro.com as the signed macOS build, self-hosted download, and activation flow are finalized.

How does beta access work?

The Mac app is opening through a private beta path with usage limits while delivery, activation, and product feedback are finalized.

Does my voice data stay under my control?

Voice Scribe Pro is built around a local-first Apple speech recognition workflow where supported by macOS. Some optional cleanup or activation features may use online services later, but the goal is simple: keep raw dictation close to your Mac and keep you in control of what leaves it.

Which Macs are supported?

The current target is macOS 12 or later, with newer macOS versions recommended for the best on-device intelligence features.
